Your data, and your customers' data.

Plain-English summary first: we collect what we need to run the product, we don't sell anyone's data, and you can export and delete it whenever you want. The detail is below.

Who we are

Alamobrass Technologies LLC, a Texas limited liability company doing business as Birddog CRM (“Birddog,” “we,” “us”), operates software for independent firearms retailers. This policy covers our marketing site and the Birddog application. When a shop uses Birddog to manage its own customers, the shop is the data controller of those customer records and Birddog is the processor acting on its behalf.

What we collect

  • Account data -- name, email, shop name, and login credentials, handled through our authentication provider.
  • Shop data you enter -- customer profiles, wishlists, receiving logs, orders, layaway and build records, notes, and invoices.
  • Usage data -- basic logs and error reports to keep the product working and secure.
  • Billing data -- handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Driver's license scanning

Birddog supports scanning the barcode on the back of a customer's driver's license to pre-fill their name and address when creating a profile. The raw barcode payload and license number are never stored -- only the structured name and address fields written to the customer record. No scan data leaves your device or is transmitted to Birddog servers in raw form. This feature is capture-to-populate only.

Text messages and voicemail

SMS and ringless-voicemail features are transactional and opt-in -- arrival notices, order status, and the like. Recipients can opt out at any time (reply STOP to texts), and we honor opt-outs across channels. We don't use these channels for unrelated marketing blasts.

How opt-in works. A shop's customer provides their phone number directly to the shop at point of sale or when creating a customer profile. By providing their number, the customer consents to receive transactional text messages from that shop via Birddog -- order-ready alerts, wishlist-match notifications, and layaway reminders. Shops are responsible for obtaining and documenting that consent.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies by account activity. You will only receive messages when there is a relevant update -- an item arriving, an order ready, or a payment reminder. There are no recurring marketing blasts.

How to opt out. Reply STOP to any text message to opt out. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts will be sent. To opt back in, contact the shop directly.

Help. Reply HELP to any text message for assistance, or contact the shop directly.

Carrier disclaimer. Message and data rates may apply. Supported carriers include all major US carriers. Carrier support for SMS is not guaranteed for all carriers.

Our SMS provider is SignalWire. Messages are sent from toll-free number +1 (888) 435-9298 on behalf of the shop whose customer record you are in.

Payments

Customer payments and shop billing are processed by our payment provider over their secure, tokenized flow. Card numbers are entered directly into the processor's hosted fields and never touch Birddog's servers, which keeps card data out of our scope.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of vendors to run Birddog -- hosting and database, authentication, email and SMS/voicemail delivery, payment processing, distributor connections, and error monitoring. Each receives only the data needed for its function and is bound to protect it. We do not sell personal data to anyone.

Your data is yours

You can export your shop's data to CSV at any time, and request deletion of your account and its records. Where a customer has order history, we archive rather than hard-delete so financial and compliance history stays intact -- and you can export everything for that customer first.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the app secure. We don't run third-party advertising trackers on the application.

Changes and contact

If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app. Questions about your data? Reach out through our contact form and we'll help.
